Was NYC Worth the Hype? Rating My First Trip to the Big Apple

New York City is a place that's buzzing with excitement and energy. As I prepared for my first visit, I felt a mix of anticipation and nerves. I had heard countless stories of its lively atmosphere, iconic landmarks, and incredible food. Would NYC truly live up to the buzz? J

Arrival: The Magic of JFK

Flying into JFK Airport felt like entering a vibrant movie scene. As our plane approached, I was mesmerized by the sprawling city below. The moment I stepped outside, the lively energy of New York embraced me. Well the smell did.

The best part? Navigating the airport was easy. I hopped on the AirTrain and made my way to the hotel very easily. Despite its vastness, NYC’s public transportation is user-friendly. In fact, about 60% of New Yorkers rely on the subway daily, making it a reliable choice for visitors. While I did not use the subway this time around; I found the bus and train system very useful and affordable.

Exploring Times Square: A Feast for the Senses

No visit to NYC is complete without the electric atmosphere of Times Square. Times square was nothing but illuminated screens that was sadly underwhelming.

I spent an entire day soaking in the sights.

Food Culture: A Culinary Adventure

The food scene in New York City is a treasure trove of flavors. With its mix of cultures, the city offers endless dining options. I embraced the variety, sampling everything from traditional bagels to trendy food trucks.

One special meal was a slice of pizza from a corner pizzeria, which taught me the beauty of the foldable New York-style pizza.I also had the pleasure of enjoying Jolibee's for the first time and it didn't miss.

For food lovers, planning ahead is key. I highly recommend visiting Chinatown for delicious bulgogi burgers. Chinatown featured some stores that have in Duluth,Ga like Teso life but the food was the best part. I high recommend visiting. We also visited Koreatown as well.

Seventeen Concert

Traveling in itself is such a joy but going to a concert is even better. Going to New York for the first time for a concert was absolutely amazing.
